Hello again! It feels like it was only yesterday since I was writing Postcards From Far Away, but a week HAS passed, apparently. And what an eventful week it’s been! A lot of stuff got done in Windfall this week, so, without further ado, let’s have a gander at my adventures. This week should probably be prefaced with a spoiler warning, since I get loads of stuff that you might want to find organically. Animal Crossing is all about the joy of discovery, so if you haven’t been playing at least a week or so, you should probably hold off on reading this weeks entry.
We start off with another lovely lucky ticket prize: the SS Dolphin. Pikmin is one of my favourite games, so the model of Olimar’s ship is likely to be a mainstay of my house for a while.
Cyrus finally woke up and promptly accused me of trying to seduce his wife.
Dude, I’m not interested in any hot alpaca action. Cyrus renovates furniture, with loads of different options, for pretty cheap. It’s another small feature that New Leaf added that can change the whole game – now very few pieces of furniture will look the same from player to player.
I convinced my girlfriend to buy a 3DS and Animal Crossing this week. This is us on a romantic journey to Outset (and in the [I’m going to kill you – Ed]).
You could say that, Kapp’n
A bullet bill cannon! Neat.
A Blue Falcon! YES!
I found a QR code for Aryll’s dress (now sadly lost to the ages). It’s a really good design, although I don’t really model it too well.
Pietro wanted to move away!
As creepy and weird as he is, I have grown to love the scary fuck, so I convinced him to stay.
He then recommended we build a pyramid, presumably because he wants to show Ankha that he loves her. They’ll make a cute couple, I think.
Something you can see in all these pictures is my new road system. They’re lined with fruit trees and I am going to make a bomb off them.
I set Cyrus to work on my alpine shelf. You can change the type of wood…
And incorporate custom designs.
This is what he came up with. I really like this feature.
Apparently everyone in town has started calling me ‘youngin’. I’m convinced this is more of Nook’s mob speak – he has everyone in this town in the palm of his hand and is using them to try and pressure me to leave. Well, it’s not going to work, Nook!
I finally finished the reset centre. Now I can be shouted at by a mole any time I please!
Oh Mabel, I didn’t know you liked me that way. You naughty hog.
Hello Resetti! You popping up inside my flowerbed definitely didn’t terrify me at all.
I’m building a Dream Suite. This thing lets you visit other people’s towns in a ‘dream state,’ which basically allows you to wander round and do whatever you like to it without making any permanent changes. It’s designed to combat people coming into your town and cutting down all your trees (OR TRAMPLING YOUR PRECIOUS FLOWERS. I WILL NEVER FORGET, JACOB).
Now I am truly the Hero of Wind. Got to find my Hero’s Cap first, though.
I decided Pietro could be a little more creepy.
Finished some more dinosaurs. They are terrifying (they aren’t at all terrifying. They’re dead).
Ankha turned into a racist overnight.
How horrifying. Savannah is a pretty cool Zebra. I think I had her in my Wild World town, so I invited her to live in Windfall.
She made me play Rock Paper Scissors – if I won three times, she’d move in. I won, obviously.
Hamlet is slowly losing his mind. Obsessed with his physique, he’s begun to eschew the idea of clothes in order to better show off his muscles. It won’t be long before he starts running around naked.
I shot down a balloon and got this ridiculous balloon hat.
I went to visit Jacob’s town. He tried to assault me.
Luckily I escaped, but then found this.
Ah well. What’s a night of casual sex, right? I thought I’d wear the dress – Jacob really digs the young girl look.
Pietro has noticed my new Arbeit Macht Frei policy.
I don’t have a funny caption for this image, I just thought the night sky looked amazing.
I HAVE FINALLY BEEN RECOGNISED AS A GARDENER
THANK YOU PHINEAS
Ahem. My club finally got built! Time to check it out!
I played hide and seek with Hamlet, Ankha and Pietro. They were all pretty easy to find, but it was fun.
I thought I’d get a new summer look. Check the shades, yo.
I went back to the club after lunch to find Doctor Shrunk setting up. Doctor Shrunk teaches you emotes – in previous games you could only get four (which couldn’t even be replaced!) but in New Leaf he gives you a ‘joke book’ that lets you keep all forty. The first one he taught me was Sorrow. I guess Shrunk knows me better than I thought.
Look at me, being all sad.
Anna Anthropy has some great designs over at http://animalcrosstich.tumblr.com that are well worth checking out. This is ‘c-y-b-e-r-p-u-n-k.’
My girlfriend (her name is Libby, since you asked) took a trip to Club LOL.
Party hype train.
The town has recognised me as The New Tom Nook by putting me up on the screen. TOOK LONG ENOUGH.
Tired out as all hell. All partying and no work makes Nick a dull Crosser.
This month’s exclusive download thing is this palm tree lamp. I like it.
NEW SHOP KLAXON
I bought a picture from Crazy Redd yesterday, but the asshole sold me a fake. I even googled it to make sure it was real! I guess I’m just an idiot.
I finally found some trousers that fit with Link’s Pyjamas.
Savannah is moving in!
My fruit planting paid off.
Olivia asked if she should leave. I’m not too attached to her, so I tried to let her go, but…
Sure, Kapp’n. Sure.
My town tree has hit full size, after nearly three weeks.
I finished the dream suite! I’m happy about that, apparently.
Today’s emotion was happiness, coincidentally. This is me being happy.
Yeah, this one barely looks different to the normal face.
New mailbox! I’m going for that Donkey Kong Country feel.
Hi Savannah! I hope your old town won’t miss you.
NEW SHOP KLAXON STILL SOUNDING
The Dream Suite had its grand opening today.
This is my dream address, if you want to visit Windfall.
I tried to go somewhere else, but apparently my internet connection is too flimsy for it. Ah well!
I started the Public Works Project for renovating the Museum, went to Outset for an hour, resulting in this, with huge wads of cash to spare. The Island has really broken New Leaf’s economy.
The last thing I did this week was visit Libby’s town. She has a lovely fountain!
I also looked through her drawers. Well, I could’ve told you what was in there, but I thought it was too rude.
Right, flower time!
Now, I’m not sure, but Postcards From Far Away might be taking a break next week, as my tour of America will have me staying somewhere WITHOUT WIFI. If that happens, there’ll be a double bill the week after. If not, well, it’ll be normal. Obviously.
Until next week, losers. I love you all.
