Ghostlight, famous publisher of delayed Atlus games, today put up the JRPG Agarest: Generations of War (Record of Agarest War in the US) on Steam Greenlight. The game was previously on consoles as a retail release, but somehow Ghostlight still need to go through Greenlight for this release, a bit odd if you ask me.
But, that’s not where the story end. You see, Ghostlight has decided to pull a Tecmo-Koei by not actually issuing any word, press-release or even a brief tweet regarding the fact that they’re releasing this game or putting it on Steam, it was discovered by a person browsing Steam, and when he asked a Ghostlight employee regarding the matter on twitter, the response was simply that they’ll say something regarding it “soon”.
People know very well that I’ve been critical of Ghostlight’s ways of publishing in the past, and have been begging for them to take after other publishers as much as possible. But Ghostlight, you don’t need to take after the 2nd most messed up release of this year.
…Also, your trailer on the Steam page says 2009 and shows the PS3 version and logo.
Oh well, at least I’m happy to see more RPG’s hit Steam, I’m always for that.
